H1N1 (Swine) Flu

The H1N1 (Swine) flu virus is a new strain of the influenza virus that causes similar symptoms to those of the seasonal flu. As health experts seek to better understand the scope and severity of the H1N1 situation, this is a good time for individuals, families and organizations to review their emergency preparedness plans and understand what precautionary measures they can take to reduce their risk of contracting the flu.

The American Red Cross in Greater New York offers a range of products and training to help individuals and corporations prepare for a pandemic flu outbreak.

Pandemic Flu – Tabletop Exercise

This concise, immersive, multi-media exercise is designed to be used by individual and/or interdependent departments within an organization to profile operational resiliency and to facilitate preparedness planning. The exercise compliments/supplements the American Red Cross in Greater New York’s Pandemic Flu: Are You Prepared? employee training. The 60-minute exercise duration is ideally suited for weekly/monthly departmental meetings.

Personal Protection Kits

The American Red Cross in Greater New York has a variety of pre-assembled “Protection Kits” available. Additionally, we can collaborate with your organization to provide “Protection Kits” customized to your company’s specifics needs and desires.
