Helping New Yorkers prepare for and respond to emergencies is vital to the core mission of the American Red Cross in Greater New York. Each year, the Chapter trains more than 200,000 New Yorkers to prepare for emergencies, prevent injuries and respond calmly and effectively when emergencies strike.
Lifesaving Skills Classes
The American Red Cross in Greater New York offers training classes for individuals, groups and corporations, enabling them to respond to disasters and life-threatening emergencies with practical skills and confidence. The classes include: CPR/AED (Adult, Child, Infant), First Aid, Aquatics and Caregiving.
Emergency Preparedness
Emergencies can strike quickly, without warning, and at any time. Year after year, the American Red Cross in Greater New York provides more than 80,000 New Yorkers with emergency preparedness information and training through community outreach programs and special presentations.
