The American Red Cross in Greater New York’s (ARC/GNY) Internship Program provides college undergraduates and graduates with meaningful opportunities to help their community while giving them guidance from experts in their field of professional study. ARC/GNY interns also enjoy “real world” experience: stimulating and challenging professional projects, assignments and activities that enhance their educational experience and skills. These can include developing training programs, submitting grant applications, coordinating outreach events and recruiting volunteers. In return, the Chapter receives the benefit of a dedicated, enthusiastic addition to its staff.
Interns work in departments throughout the Chapter—from Marketing to Disaster Planning & Response to Youth Services. They are also encouraged to take advantage of the numerous Red Cross disaster courses available to all volunteers, which help them become well-versed in ARC/GNY’s work and mission.
Interns must be currently affiliated with an accredited academic institution or commencing study in the coming semester.
