NY Red Cross Assists First Responders at Manhattan Pier Fire

September 7, 2010 (photo: Danilo Reyes/NY Red Cross)Greater New York Chapter relief workers in a Red Cross emergency response vehicle were on the scene of a three-alarm fire that struck a Manhattan pier on Saturday, September 4th. The Red Cross workers remained on the scene for several hours providing water and snacks for nearly 130 firefighters battling the blaze. Metro New York Red Cross Chapters Cease Hurricane Earl Relief Operations

September 4, 2010 On Friday night, September 3, Hurricane Earl drifted eastward, having minimal impact on eastern Long Island and its residents. The area was hit with some heavy rain, steady winds, and according to State officials, significant beach erosion in some areas. News Alert: NY Red Cross Provides Assistance to Queens Residents Affected By Flooding

August 25, 2010 After heavy rains caused flooding in the Laurelton section of Queens, the NY Red Cross sent relief workers to the scene to provide assistance to affected residents from the 33 dwellings impacted by the incident. The Red Cross estimates that over 100 people were affected by the flooding, and distributed flood cleanup kits and dry clothing to those in need of this immediate emergency care.
