2010 Volunteer Award Recipients

Clara Barton Award - This is our most prestigious award, designed to promote superior performance among all volunteers and to honor the top volunteer of the year. It recognizes a truly exceptional volunteer, one who has served for a minimum of 5 years and has made an outstanding contribution to the success of a particular service area or project activity, or who has served in multiple capacities and maintained service excellence. | Richard Gallis |
Community Services Award - This award recognizes an exceptional volunteer or team of volunteers with a clear commitment to, and excellence in their service and impact to the surrounding community (includes communities at large). This person or team must have served for a minimum of one year and have worked within areas such as, but not limited to, Community Outreach, the Emergency Communication Center, International Tracing Services, and Project Search. | |
Corporate Community Partnership Award - This award is given to an organization that has helped the American Red Cross in Greater New York help others by mobilizing volunteers and promoting ARC/GNY’s volunteer program. | BlueCross/BlueShield/Wellpoint |
| Emerging Leader Award - This award recognizes an individual who has demonstrated strong leadership qualities and budding potential in at least two of the leadership areas noted above during their early tenure at the Chapter. First Year Award - This award honors an exceptional volunteer who has served for less than one year and has made an outstanding contribution to the success of a particular service area or project activity. | |
| Innovation Award - An award that recognizes an individual or team that has developed a new process, concept, model or initiative that has made ARC/GNY more relevant to the community that we serve, or has taken an existing service that we provide and made it more efficient. Volunteer Partnership Award - This award exemplifies and promotes a cooperative partnership between a volunteer and a paid staff member. It honors outstanding job performance on a project, in an office or in a line of service. | Zofia Bolewicz |
Support Services Award - This award honors an exceptional volunteer or group of volunteers. This person or group must have served for a minimum of one year and functioned in a support services role.
