1. What should I bring to class?
You should bring a pencil or pen to take notes. Your confirmation letter will indicate anything else you'll need to bring. Courses with prerequisites require proof of current certification. Review classes require that participants bring the book and sometimes a pocket face mask (if required). |
 |
2. How do I get to the training site?
Check the directions to the class locations. |
 |
3. Will there be breaks during the class?
Yes, there are short breaks during the class. Full-day classes include a lunch break. |
 |
4. I'd like to take a CPR course, but I have a bad back/bad knees/etc. Will this be a problem?
CPR is a physically demanding class, and we advise that you consult your physician before registering. All students should be able to turn over a person who is lying on the floor, and will be required to do so. |

5. I'd like to take a CPR course, but I'm very concerned about the possibility that I could get sick from the manikins used in your classes. How do you prevent that from happening?
According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there has never been a documented case of any infectious disease transmitted through the use of CPR manikins. The American Red Cross follows widely accepted guidelines for cleaning and decontaminating the manikins. And during class, you don't breath directly into the manikin's mouth; each student has his or her own "face" that is used when it's time to practice rescue breathing and CPR. |
