You can hear it in his voice. Pride. Pride at being a Red Cross donor, pride at being a Board Member, pride at helping the Red Cross fulfill its important mission.
Frank Petrilli, former president and CEO of TD Waterhouse USA, is a member of the Board of Trustees of the American Red Cross in Greater New York and is Chairman of the Financial Development Advisory Committee. He is also an active donor.
His unwavering belief in the Red Cross and its mission is infectious. "When I think about what our mission is - to help people avoid, prepare for, and cope with emergencies; to enhance self-reliance and concern for others; and to improve the quality of human life - it is exactly what the Red Cross does. Anyone that fully understands what our mission is can't turn their back on the organization. I feel this to my core."
Frank also cites the leadership of Bill Gray, President of Ogilvy & Mather New York, who serves as Chairman of the Red Cross Board of Directors. "We are so fortunate to have Bill Gray as Chairman," he said. "He articulates our message so succinctly and clearly."
Frank has the utmost respect for Red Cross volunteers that help make our mission possible. "Whenever I talk to volunteers, their dedication always lifts my spirit. I'm so proud to be involved in an organization where more than 6,000 people donate their time to help other people in need. Our volunteers are the salt of the earth."
He has helped secure contributions from numerous organizations and corporations, including the New York Stock Exchange, ADP, and American Express. These donations are essential for ARC/GNY to continue providing its vital services to members of the Greater New York community. It is because of people like Frank that we are able to carry out our mission and help New Yorkers in need.
