The employees of Le Parker Meridien hotel in midtown came up with an inventive way to raise funds for Hurricane Katrina victims : they created a paper hotel and sold individual windows and put each donor's name on them. Together, the employees raised $3,000 for the Red Cross. Evelyn Salazar, Cyril Goodluck, Rose Marcelin, Islande Richardson and Mary Hanley-Callinan spearheaded the effort and all departments at the hotel took part.
