Step-by-Step Guide to Becoming a Volunteer
To become a Disaster Reserve Volunteer and participate only in the time of a large-scale local disaster or emergency
To become a volunteer who participates in Chapter activities on a regular basis

To become a Disaster Reserve Volunteer and participate only in the time of a large-scale local disaster or emergency

Method One - Follow the steps listed above and indicate your interest in being a Disaster Reserve Volunteer during your interview.  In this method, your training will take place one course at a time.

Method Two - Attend the Reserve Institute

Step One – Complete the online application

Step Two – Register for Reserve Institute

Step Three – Complete the background check required of all Red Cross volunteers and employees.

Step Four – Attend the Reserve Institute

To become a volunteer who participates in Chapter activities on a regular basis

Step 1 – Complete online application and register for and attend Volunteer Orientation.

Step 2 – Register for and attend an interview.

Step 3 – Successfully complete an online background check.

Final Step – Meet with your volunteer liaison in your area of interest.
