Your Gift At Work
Contributions to ARC/GNY enable us to support our extensive volunteer organization and to provide vital services to New Yorkers in need.
Thousands of dedicated men, women and young adults serve as ARC/GNY volunteers. They respond to more than 3,100 emergencies in all five boroughs of New York City, as well as Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Sullivan Counties in New York. They teach courses, ranging from the fundamentals of first aid to highly sophisticated lifesaving methods, assist with community outreach and education, provide logistic support and much more.
Some 3,600 volunteers provide skills and offer their service in our Greater New York service area. Funds are required to recruit, train and equip each volunteer, and to maintain effective communications.
In addition, ARC/GNY provides many direct services to New Yorkers affected by disasters, from immediate food, clothing and shelter to longer-term mental health counseling. These services require on-going financial support so the Red Cross can continue to meet every need.
Accountability You Can Rely On
