ARC/GNY Youth Group Executive Board
After being considered in a selective application process, present members of the Youth Group are selected to serve on the Executive Board (EB). Being selected as an EB member, provides youth with an opportunity to hold integral leadership positions and assist in the essential decision making involved in the Youth Group’s activities. The EB is comprised of youth volunteers selected to serve in one of the following service areas: Community Outreach, Disaster Planning & Response, Safety & Preparedness, Homework Help, Volunteer Intake and Special Events. The EB is an essential link between the chapter’s staff and the youth volunteers. They provide leadership and direction to their peers and maintain responsibility for accomplishing service area objectives. The EB members are critical to the organization’s ability to engage large numbers of youth and to provide the supervision and support needed to effectively involve them. |

Greater New York Youth Council
The Greater New York Youth Council is comprised of youth volunteers that have been selected through an application process to represent the Area Office in Greater New York in which they dedicate their volunteer time. The areas that the youth represent are consistent with those that the ARC/GNY serves: Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, Staten Island and the Lower Hudson Valley. The objective of the Youth Council is to create a forum where youth volunteers can create activities for youth that will unify the Area Offices and to coordinate an annual Youth Leadership Conference for the youth volunteers of Greater New York. The Council members provide leadership, direction to their peers and maintain responsibility for the accomplishment of annual objectives. |
