Step 1 – Complete and submit online application and register for an upcoming Youth Orientation Session 

Step 2 – Print, fill out and make sure your parent or guardian reads and signs the Parent/Guardian Consent Form

Step 3 – Read, print and sign the Policy Consent Form

Step 4 – Bring all printed and signed forms and a picture ID to your scheduled orientation session

Step 5 – Complete orientation, choose a service area and complete the interview

Step 6 – Start your volunteer service with the ARC/GNY Youth Group!

Student's Guide to Starting a Red Cross Club

1. Secure a sponsor at your school. This can be a teacher or a guidance counselor.
2. Meet with your school principal or the correct administrative personnel and explain the benefits of starting a Red Cross Club at your school.
3. Obtain permission from the administration at your school to start a Red Cross Club.
4. Contact ARC/GNY to schedule a meeting to discuss what it means to start a Red Cross Club in your high school, youthvolunteers@nyredcross.org or (212) 875-2158.
5. Meet with the ARC/GNY and your selected sponsor
6. Return back to school and begin the planning process for getting your club started.
7. Decide on the general focus of your Red Cross Club and then develop a leadership structure and job responsibilities for each leadership position.
8. Plan a list of potential activities.
9. Advertise and publicize the club in your high school and be sure to register your club.
10. Convene the first meeting of your Red Cross Club!
