At the 2008 New York Red Cross Ball, held on April 2, 2007 at the World Financial Center Winter Garden in Lower Manhattan, Red Cross Anthem was shown. In it, prominent New Yorkers describe their feelings about the American Red Cross in Greater New York and its vital humanitarian mission.

New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg
Mayor Michael Bloomberg participated in the dedication of the new headquarters of the American Red Cross in Greater New York at 520 West 49th Street on November 14, 2006. These are the remarks the Mayor made at that historic ceremony, following an introduction by Chapter Chief Executive Officer Theresa A. Bischoff.

New York City Council Speaker Christine C. Quinn
New York City Council President Christine C. Quinn was a featured speaker at the 2007 New York Red Cross Ball on March 29, 2007, at the World Financial Center Winter Garden in Lower Manhattan. The event, attended by over 550, raised more than $1.5 million to support the Chapter’s educational programs and disaster relief services.

Jermaine Brown
The American Red Cross in Greater New York assisted Jermaine Brown after an apartment fire completely destroyed her home on March, 24 2007. Jermane spoke at the “Great Things Every Day” Breakfast on May 10, 2007 and described her experience.
