| Responsibilities: |
The American Red Cross in Greater New York is in the midst of a strategic initiative to recruit and prepare 10,000 volunteers for a large scale disaster. To reach our goal, we are initiating a volunteer recruitment effort throughout our service area. The intern will work with the Assistant Director of Volunteer Recruitment to develop and implement volunteer recruitment strategies for targeted populations, develop recruitment tools and materials to attain goals, conduct research to identify additional recruitment and outreach opportunities and maintain reports on recruitment activities. |

| Qualifications: |
Must possess excellent customer service skills.
Must be proficient in MS Office applications.
Must be proficient in the use of the internet for research.

Volunteer Orientation (2 hours) |

| Time Commitment: |
Spring 2008, 10-15 hours/week |
