The American Red Cross in Greater New York is in the midst of a strategic initiative to recruit and prepare 10,000 volunteers for a large scale disaster. To reach our goal, we are launching a volunteer recruitment effort throughout our service area. Street Teams will distribute information in high traffic areas of the community as well as street fairs and other volunteer recruitment events. Street Team Leaders manage these teams and work with Volunteer Resources/Area Office staff to determine pools of potential volunteers, and manage inventory for outreach events. Street Team Leaders should possess a more in-depth knowledge of recruiting needs and opportunities, and be able to conduct recruitment presentations. |
