Blood Drive Automated Health History Volunteer
Department: Community Development
Location: Orange and Sullivan Counties
Responsibilities: Blood Services Health Volunteers staff American Red Cross blood drives by taking the donor’s temperature, performing a finger stick for hemoglobin determination, conducting interviews for medical health history and documenting donor information. This is done while maintaining the confidentiality of donor information.
Qualifications: Proficiency in MS Office applications
Experience measuring blood pressure and taking pulse
Comfortable completing hemoglobin determination
Medical/Technical training a plus
Training: Volunteer Orientation (2 hours)
Blood Services Orientation (4 hours)
Hemoglobin Training (3 hours)
Health History Training (5 hours)
Computer Training (10 hours)
Time Commitment: As needed, 6-8 hours per blood drive
