Sales and Customer Service Representative, Products & Sales
Reports To: Senior Manager, Products & Sales
Department: Safety & Preparedness
Location: Manhattan
Category: Part-Time
Primary Function: Serves as the retail sales and customer service representative in the Red Cross Store to assist and support customers, instructors and Authorized Providers.
Responsibilities: 1. Provides course information, assists with product, equipment purchases and rentals. Assists instructors/trainers in the selection of appropriate products for their training needs.

2. Participates in monthly inventory counts of products and equipment at ARC/GNY locations.

3. Receives and processes orders for direct sale, to be held for pick up or to be shipped to customers.

4. Verifies incoming shipments, applies prices to products and replenishes stock on store shelves.

5. Assists with various administrative functions related to sales and rentals. Answers phones, prepares reports, deliver cash and checks to Finance.

6. Perform other duties and special projects as required.

7. Participate in the Disaster Services Human Resources (DSHR) system and be available for local assignments as needed.
Qualifications: Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Associate’s degree preferred.

Experience: Minimum of two years customer service or retail sales experience.

Related Skills: Excellent communication skills and strong customer service orientation. Excellent interpersonal skills. Detailed oriented with the ability to work well under pressure and in a fast paced environment. Knowledge of office systems, MS-Office preferred.

Other Requirements:
Must learn and utilize the Point of Sale System and Outlook.
Must wear appropriate business attire.
Ability to lift 25 lbs., including but not limited to books and materials.
Regular moving and stocking of supplies and equipment required.
