The American Red Cross in Greater New York (ARC/GNY) supported the New York City Fire Department and other first responders at a nine alarm vacant warehouse fire at West and Noble Streets in the Greenpoint section of Brooklyn along the East River waterfront. (The ninth alarm was for relief purposes.)

The Red Cross deployed three Emergency Response Vehicles (ERV's) and 20 personnel to the scene to provide hydration and snacks to the more than 200 responders and to serve approximately 300 meals by midday. The Red Cross remained on location through the evening and provided another 500 meals to firefighters and other emergency personnel.
