Red Cross Youth Volunteers Brush Up Queens Park
May 27, 2006

Fifteen teenage volunteers from the American Red Cross in Greater New York (ARC/GNY) donated a portion of their Memorial Day holiday weekend on Saturday, May 27, to help restore and beautify Captain Tilly Park in Jamaica, Queens. The park is bounded by Gothic Avenue, Highland Avenue and 165th and 166th Streets.

The youth corps painted approximately 25 park benches around the pond. The photo shows Joan Foley, director of the Queens Area Office of the American Red Cross in Greater New York, with a few of her volunteers.
