The Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association (CCBA), one of the largest Chinese-American community service organizations on the U.S. East Coast, held its first-ever fundraiser for the American Red Cross in Greater New York on Friday, July 27, at CCBA, 62 Mott Street, Manhattan with more than 75 people in attendance.
The two organizations signed a Memorandum of Understanding last December that outlined the cooperation and coordination of specific programs that will help prepare and train the Chinese community in New York City for any kind of emergency.
Working with key leaders at the CCBA, the Greater New York Chapter has been providing Mandarin and Cantonese emergency preparedness information, as well as CPR/AED, First Aid and other classes to local Chinese residents throughout the community.
