The American Red Cross in Greater New York and New York City agencies continue to provide aid and comfort to anyone affected by the floods and tornado that struck Brooklyn and other parts of New York City on August 8. If you are in need of assistance, please call 311 or visit the Disaster Recovery Center at 415 Ovington Avenue in Intermediate School 30 near 70th Street and 4th Avenue in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn.

The Center will be open Monday, August 13th through Friday, August 17th from noon to 7 pm. Representatives of city agencies and Red Cross will be available.

Between Wednesday, August 8 and Sunday, August 12, more than 3500 meals and snacks, as well as 2,000 bottles of water, were provided to individuals affected by the storm and first responders guiding recovery efforts in the community at a Red Cross shelter set up at P.S. 314, the Luis Muñoz Marin Elementary School at 330 59th Street in Brooklyn.
