Through April 30, 2008 in Rockland County, the Chapter:
- Responded to 9 fires and other emergencies
- Assisted 35 adults and children with food, shelter and/or counseling following a disaster
Notable Activities in 2007:
Leap Day Fire After a fire at 125 Roosevelt Drive in Rockland County at 12 a.m. on Friday, February 29 rendered the private home non-habitable, Greater New York Chapter responders provided humanitarian assistance to one adult and two children in the form of emergency aid for clothing and food.
Spring Valley Blaze Ten families of 19 adults and 26 children received food, beverages, comfort and caring from Red Cross responders on February 7 after a fire swept through 153 Clinton Street in Spring Valley, NY.
Fire on Schuyler Road On February 14 at 2 am, Red Cross provided hot meals and drinks to six adults and four children affected by a blaze at a private home at 10 Schuyler Road in Central Nyack.
