First Aid for Children Today (FACT)

Appropriate For Children Ages 5–8

This program helps children understand the importance of managing their own health and safety, as well as the health of the environment in which they live. Using stories featuring animal characters, FACT deals with topics such as First Aid and calling 911. Each child receives a Fun Book to take home.

Basic Aid Training (BAT)

Appropriate For Children Ages 8–10

This program teaches First Aid procedures pertaining to breathing difficulties, bleeding, poisoning, burns and shock. Through a series of interactive quizzes, activities and games, BAT also empowers children to prevent many accidents by giving them the basic skills they need to identify potentially harmful situations. Upon completion of the training, each child receives an activity booklet to take home. The entire training takes about 6 hours, and can be scheduled as 1 session or as a series.

Water Habits Are Learned Early (WHALE)

Appropriate for Children Ages 5–12

This program teaches children how to identify, understand and avoid hazards around the water. Using activity sheets in conjunction with an animated video featuring Longfellow, the blue whale, children find that learning about water safety can be fun. Choose from eight lessons covering topics such as water safety rules, boat safety and rescue techniques. Each lesson provides various activities that can be used depending on the skill level of the group.

Scrubby Bear Hand Washing

Appropriate for Children Ages 4–7

Using games, art projects and stories, this 30-minute program teaches children about germs and instructs them in behaviors to reduce the spread of infectious diseases. Each lesson provides various activities that are chosen to match the skill level of the group. The curriculum provides exercises that incorporate subjects such as math, science, language, art and music.
